Here’s another photo from my husband’s December trip to Bristol:

    Hi Alyce,

I love the way that your husband has managed to capture the essence of the old and the new Bristol, so well in his shot. It puts a whole new perspective on things which, as almost ‘locals’, we take for granted.

I am impressed by the clear blue sky though, it isn’t often that you see a sight like that over Bristol, I can tell you!

    Have a good weekend.

    Yvonne.

  3. Leslie says:

Nice contrast of old and new. The red boat grabbed my eye, and then I realized that was a cathedral poking up in the background.

  4. Cipriano says:

    So lovely.
All that’s missing from this is me, strolling along the ag’ed-stone boardwalk, whistling an old English ditty and sipping my Starbucks coffee — thinking of how awesome it is to be lolligagging about on my third week of an eight-week vacation!
See? The photo causes me to dream, dream, dream…

  5. What a good photo – packed with fascinating buildings. And what a lovely blue sky! That immediately struck me.

  6. Looks like a very nice December day in Bristol. Love the colors in this.

I love the boats in front of that gorgeous architecture. Europe’s history is just incredible, I cannot wait to visit again, and maybe Bristol and the other spots he visited should be on my list! All of these photos you’ve shared are incredible.

  22. Cheryl says:

Isn’t it funny what grabs different people? I scrolled through the comments and saw all these remarks about the red boat–which hadn’t caught my eye at all! I was busy looking at the cathedral. :)

I love the bright color of the boats against the blue sky and the brown of the architecture.
