Oddly enough, none of the books I was reading at the time are actually on the coffee table in this photo. Two are my husband’s, one (Wonderstruck) I had already finished and my son was reading it, two library books I didn’t have time for, and The Secret Garden I have been reading to the boys at bedtime.

I used to love putting puzzles together with the family
Haven’t done that in a while!
My son and I like doing jigsaw puzzles together too. This looks a great one to do with kids, with the distinct colours of the different birds.
I haven’t done a puzzle in years! That brings back childhood memories, we would work on a puzzle for days. I especially like the bird one that you have there.

I love jigsaws too! My Snapshot this week is from my family photo album.
Having books in the house is one of the indicators of raising geniuses, so you are well on your way. None of my kids were ever interested in jigsaw puzzles. I suppose that’s for the best since I’m sure the cats would just bat away pieces. Here’s Mine

That looks like fun!
I keep eying jigsaw puzzles in stores lately. I used to love them. I know it’s only a matter of time until I break down and get one!
What a beautiful puzzle! It makes me think I should dig around in our game closet to see if we still have any to pull out over the holidays when all my boys are home. We used to love doing them but it’s been a long time. I miss that.
I love doing puzzles. Wonderful way to spend time with family!
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
I love that puzzle. Marc and I always do a puzzle during Christmas vacation and/or whenever we get blizzards and school is canceled!!
Puzzles, oh, they confound me!
I’ll stick with that Steve Jobs’ biography. I could work out with that thing, it’s so huge. Might have to download that one!
I have so many books all over my house, I bet most photos wouldn’t show the one I am actually reading (or the ones I guess). Great puzzle, my older children love doing puzzles too and it is a nice excuse to sit together and talk without the pressure of it being a “talk”.
That’s a beautiful puzzle! Is that a Terry Pratchett novel on the far left?
Yep, my husband started the Discworld series. He’s read the first few books but then hit one that wasn’t as interesting to him. Good eye!
I love jigsaw puzzles!
Oh, you had fun! I can tell from the photo, which was the point, of course. lol
Thanks for sharing….

I like the picture… it feels warm and homey. My hubby is leaving tomorrow morning for a 6 week job in North Dakota. While that leaves me alone here I was thinking that is going to be an awful lot of reading time for me.
We haven’t done puzzles in a long time. Maybe this weekend would be a great time to pull one out! Thanks for the great idea! I love the bird puzzle! So pretty!
That’s a really nice puzzle. I have to admire the patience that makes people able to do those.
I love puzzles. I always have one out in my library so that kids who need a safe place to land can come and find like-minded kids to hang with.
Very pretty puzzle–love the birds!

What a pretty puzzle! I used to love to do puzzles…but just don’t seem to have as much time as I used to do all the things that I used to.
Looks like you guys were busy! I love jigsaw puzzles. That one is beautiful.
A puzzle is a good distraction, I use to have one going all the time, maybe it’s time to get that going again.
That puzzle is gorgeous. You certainly know how to keep entertained.
Our grandkids completed a 350-piece jigsaw puzzles during the Thanksgiving week. Theirs wwere cupcakes while yours were beautiful colorful birds.
I finished reading Great Expectations. The cruelty of love, integrity and simple acts of kindness and of course the expectations. And a lots more.
I really like that puzzle! It’s really nice.
we work on puzzles at the group home i work in ~ somehow it just seems so calming, especially in a stressful, sad environment. that’s so cool you and your kids work on it together too!
That is a lovely puzzle! And Steve Jobs is covered so he isn’t totally staring at me like he does in my own home!
I get very frustrated with puzzles. I have to finish it at the exclusion of everything else so I don’t bring one out often. The bird puzzle you have there is very pretty!
