My seven-year-old was playing in his brother’s blanket fort – made with many large blankets – when the cat leaped up onto the blankets, knocking one of the chairs down right onto his head. He was not happy with the kitty.
So he rebuilt the fort with smaller blankets so that he could see the cats before they got there, and he took one more step for his protection.
Oddly enough the cats seemed to be paying attention.

That is so adorable. Reminds me of the many MANY fortresses of my childhood.
My own cat [Jack] would never be so mischievous as to destroy a fort. Not that I MAKE them anymore.
I just WISH I did.
And look at how innocent those cats look!
“Hey, we didn’t do anything!”
Oh that is too cute! I love the pictures…those are memories that will last a lifetime and one day you and your son will look back and just smile with warmth and love at the laughter you shared over the cats! Love, love, love the pics!
btw, not sure how i got “the devils den” onto my name/link but that is most definitely NOT what my pictures are all about ~ it’s the Jellybean AGAIN! And oh boy is he just too adorable on his first pony ride!
I changed the link title for you.
love this! I’m thinking that my cats don’t read, or if they do they pretend they don’t!

Well, the cats seem to able to read! Great cats. Great son too!
I always knew cats were smart. Did they take the sign down when you left the room?
Fun pics. I love how the cats are looking at the fort probably wondering why your son was in their play area
That’s very funny- the situation, the sign. All lovely.
Self made forts like these were always the best! The cats look like they are plotting another invasion…LOL
That is adorable! And so brilliant to put a picture of a “cats” game with it! (Jim never heard of saying “cats” for a game until me – maybe it’s a regionalism!)

That is so cute!
That is too stinking funny! Very obedient cats!
So cute! I love the notes kids can come up with.
My kids regularly make signs to keep out each other, but we currently do not have any pets so we haven’t had a sign like that yet!
Ah, great memories of my kids building forts. And my cats definitely would disregard the sign. But how cute that he made a sign anyway. Here’s My Saturday Snapshot
I like the way the cats are just staring at the sign, as if insulted by it!
Oh, I am reminded of those forts from my kids’ childhoods…and how they especially enjoyed them on cold, wintry days. Love the sign! And the cats do look like they’re paying attention!
Hahahaha. I love it!
Hahahaha!
I love it – it really does look like the cats are reading the sign he made!
Oh, that is so funny:) I love it, especially as the cats obeyed his notice – such clever cats.

That is funny! The cats look like they are not going to go there again!
Poor kitties, they just want to play!
So cute! My girls are actually building a fort right now. I love it when they do this.
That sign is hilarious and fantastic…and it sure looks like the cats are heeding his warning!
That’s a beautiful quilt drped over the chair, too!
Those cats look like they’re planning something to me…
Some days you just need to put it in writing. Cute.
Cats that pay attention! How do you do it? Cute fort
the ingenuity of seven-year olds. They love to build forts with pillows and blankets, with sofas and toy boxes for walls.
LOL!! I love cats!!! They are incredibly smart!!
Love it!!
I especially like the fort with the sign. A lovely quilt, by the way.
Smart cats! Cute, too. What great memories you’ll have with these photos.
That really is priceless!
That was just cute, especially the cats sitting there, staring at the sign. Smart cats.
Blanket forts are SO MUCH FUN!
Very cute! And it does happen, because they believe! Finally got my Saturday post up to link….
Wow! Even the cats read in your house!! I’m impressed!
That’s really funny that the cats look like they are reading the sign!
