Welcome to the Awesome Author Challenge!
The idea behind this challenge is to read works by authors who have been recommended to you time and again, but you haven’t gotten around to reading them yet. These are the authors that everyone else tells you are awesome, thus the “Awesome Author Challenge” title.
The Rules:
The challenge starts January 1, 2010 and ends December 31, 2010.
Crossover from other challenges is allowed.
Choose the level at which you would like to participate, post about it and come back and leave a link to your post in Mister Linky.
Titles and authors do not have to be predetermined, and can change at any time.
Books can come from any genre or reading level, the only requirement is that you have heard great things about the author, but haven’t yet read any of their works.
The Levels:
Easy: Choose three authors and read at least one title from each author.
Moderate: Choose six authors and read at least one title from each author.
Challenging: Choose ten authors and read at least one title from each author.
Over-Achieving: Anything over ten authors.
Post links to your reviews on the review posts: Jan/Feb, March/April, May/June.
I have also published a wrap-up post where you can leave a link when you finish the challenge.
Please leave a direct link to your challenge post in Mister Linky.

This looks like a fabulous challenge and I know I will end up doing it. I have so many authors I keep meaning to read and never get around to it. Charles De Lint and A.S Byatt. I shall write up a post and then link up.
I'm going to carefully think before I jump into challenges next year. This one sounds fun, but I want to be sure it is a challenge I have time to do before I sign up!
Great challenge idea!
I have promised myself NOT to sign up for any 2010 challenges until I have completed more of my 2009 challenges. I will definitely keep this one in mind, however, as we near the end of the year.
a new year will need a new challenge – looking forward to some good reading – thanks!
Thanks for hosting Alyce. Love any challenge that will get me to finally read those authors or books I have been meaning to get to.
This will be fun! And what a great way to clear a few books off my TBR shelf!
Great challenge Alyce – I really look forward to being a part of this one and finally getting those great authors read.
I've been "shopping around" for new 2010 challenge and this sounds like a great one for me! I'll link up once I figure out who I will try and what level! : )

And I do not a kick in the butt

I'm really looking forward to this challenge! It will be my first challenge as a blogger. I drafted a list of authors but I'm not sure if it'll stay as it is or not! Thank you Alyce for sponsoring this fun challenge!

This is a great idea for a challenge…I am really looking forward to it!
I read about 100 new authors this year, are there any left?
Count me in as a moderate (not that there's anything moderate about my reading habits.)
I've added a provisional list of 6 authors to my ever-increasing challenge 2010 post ….

I'm totally doing this … even though I'm cutting down on challenges this year, I like your flexibility and the concept!
This one just sounds too good to miss, so I'm signing up. Great idea for a challenge! Thanks for hosting.
I love this kind of challenge!
I'm in!
I'm in. I need to break out of my rut of reading the same authors.
I am new to book blogs/blogging. For the past couple of months have been trying to learn as much as I can. This will be my first meme challenge and am excited about it.
I can't believe I'm only now noticing this! Count me in!
Great challenge!
I've linked to my post, and I'm starting a list!
I'm definitely in! I am going for the harder 10 author one. There are so many great ones on my to be read list! Great motivation!!!

This looks like a great challenge. I have a bunch of authors that I should read based on recommendations. Thanks for hosting this!
I wasn't going to join any more challenges but this one is just too perfect for me to miss:D
I'm going to do this as a personal challenge for me on my personal blog and within my homeschool/private tutoring. I've chosen my first book for me and the first one for my homeschool.
2010 is going to be a great year for me.
Thank you.
Blessings,
Amanda
I just posted my link (I should be #60 on the list) and I am so excited to begin on Friday! I cannot believe that it's already so close, but on the other hand – that's a good thing, right? New year – new opportunities!
Sounds like fun. I've been looking for an excuse to broaden the scope of my reading this year.

I'm looking forward to this challenge, thanks for hosting!
I just signed up and can't wait to start. I'm shooting for over-achieving!
This sounds like a fantastic challenge!!! I have had so many recommendations that I need to get caught up on.
Thanks for hosting!!!
Glad I stopped by and found this challenge. It will make me finally read some books that have long been on my list!
I am a bit late to join so I am gonna take it easy with 3 authors and 3 books.
What an interesting challenge! I am hoping this will motivate me to try new authors. Thanks!
I posted a page with ALL current reading challenges. Let me know if you want me to add any other information to your challenge. I hope it brings even more readers to your challenge!

I finished the challenge!

This is a great idea. I've started reviewing 52 books I've always wanted to read (about 1/4 of the way into that list) on my own web site and have included that link.
Reposting b/c the first link I used had an improperly formatted URL. I need coffee.
I missed this for 2010! I shall cross my fingers you're hosting it again in 2011. What a great challenge–I love when there's some flexibility, because then I can usually fit my TBR books into the challenge!
